About Us

RONZ is the national body that represents businesses working in the recovered materials and recycling industries. These businesses are working to produce a financial profit for their investors and, by succeeding in that, will produce an environmental profit for the nation.

RONZ member businesses range in scale from owner operators with specialist capabilities through to multi-nationals with diverse capabilities and large capacity. All are working to intercept discarded materials, to prevent them from being wasted into landfill and to add value to them.

Associate members of RONZ include; local authorities, businesses, consultants ,equipment & technology suppliers.

RONZ is actively involved in local and national issues as an advocate and counsel.

RONZ lobbies for and promotes recycling, resource efficiency and waste minimisation in New Zealand.

RONZ seeks involvement with a wide range of operators and organisations throughout New Zealand in order that the common objectives for waste minimisation can be identified and targeted in the most sustainable and beneficial manner.

Local authorities:

As representatives of their communities Councils will support the national effort by RONZ to increase the volume and variety of discarded goods that can, could or should be diverted from landfill. This is because the general public expects that result, that commitment to strive to both reduce our demand on primary resources and to mitigate the consequence of our 'consumer society'.
